Beijing Olympics Credited With Chinese Bible Sales Increase
Mansfield, TX (PRWEB) August 23, 2008 -- Interest in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics has exceeded expectations of most media experts. The increased viewership has effected more than just television ratings though. Sales of Chinese Bibles and Chinese-English Translation Bibles have skyrocketed according to Howard Gottlieb, owner of www.chinese-bibles.com.
"We were a little surprised at the dramatic increase in traffic to our website," Gottlieb said. "We offer 5 difference Chinese language Bibles including one that includes a Chinese-English translation. The number of unique visitors the site was getting every day just continues to increase."
Apparently the increase in Chinese Bibles sales can also be attributed to American Christian organizations wanting to distribute Bibles throughout China and the rest of the world despite the fact that Chinese law currently prohibits importing large numbers of Bibles into the country. Recently four members of a group named Vision Beyond Borders (VBB) had 315 Bibles confiscated upon their arrival in the country.
There are an estimated 125,000,000 Christians living in China. Groups like VBB regularly try to distribute foreign language Bibles throughout the world, especially in areas where they feel believers might have difficulty acquiring Bibles on their own.
"There are so many tourists in China right now," said one Christian Missionary who asked to remain anonymous. "It is a great opportunity to share the Gospel. We may never have an opportunity like this again."
"We try to help groups in the mission field that want to distribute inexpensive Chinese Bibles", said Gottlieb. "Groups can purchase Bibles by the case or even by the pallet at great savings."
For more information about Chinese Bibles, which provides shoppers with a thorough assortment of Chinese Bibles and Chinese-English translation Bibles individually and in discounted bulk case quantities, visit their website at www.chinese-bibles.com
