U.S. Chamber Announces Forum on China Trade Opps for Mississippi Businesses
Jackson, MS (PRWeb) December 5, 2006 -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Mississippi Development Authority and other local partners, will host a China Business Forum for local business owners on trade and investment opportunities in China on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, from 7:30-11:30 a.m. at the Marriot Hotel in downtown Jackson.
Zheng Zeguang, China's deputy ambassador to the U.S., will deliver the luncheon keynote address. Governor Haley Barbour has also been invited to address the program participants.
U.S. Chamber representatives and other trade experts will brief attendees on the current business climate in China and the fundamentals for successfully penetrating the China market, including due diligence, finding suitable partners, sales and marketing, licensing, distribution and trading, customs clearance, and regulatory issues.
China imported approximately $631 billion in goods and services from the U.S. in 2005. Some of China's top U.S. imports include: machinery and equipment, oil and mineral fuels, plastics, optical and medical equipment, organic chemicals, iron and steel. MDA maintains a foreign office in China to assist Mississippi companies with trade opportunities.
